Copper Harbor 2019

These are pictures of a camping trip that I did with the Owens clan (my relatives) in August 2019, just after I returned from China.

Copper Harbor is at the tip of a thumb (the Keneenaw Peninsula), at the top of
Michigan's Upper Peninsula. It sticks out into Lake Superior, which is our planet's
largest fresh-water lake by area. There were copper mines in the area, and the
copper was shipped out here.

I came up from Chicago; the others drove up from southeast Michigan; most of us were at the Fort Wilkins State Park Campground.

The Owens site had their huge tent, my tiny tent, and a screened-in in kitchen.

The kids set up a toll booth in the campground;
they actually made a few dollars on this.

The Soutars had a nearby cabin; I was very appreciative
when they let me use their Wi-Fi.

Activities included hiking, kayaking and swimming, biking, visiting Fort Wilkins, visiting the candy store, visiting a copper mine, target practice, laser tag, reading, eating, gymnastics, and a gift from China.
