EthiCola is a Windows program and is designed to run on Windows computers. But Macintoshes are powerful enough that adding a special program can let you run Windows programs on your Mac. I suggest that if you want to run EthiCola on your Mac, then you try either of these commercial programs that should let you run EthiCola:

Both have trial versions and student pricing. When either of these is set up, you should be able to install and run the Windows version of EthiCola from the main EthiCola download page: index.htm; click the big words that say CLICK HERE.

Depending on what setup options you pick, you may end up with a EthiCola.exe icon on your desktop (which you can double-click to start EthiCola), a similar EthiSkor.exe icon for the scoring program (if you checked the box to install this), and an LC folder for your scores and other supporting files (you must keep the program and folder together, but you can put them together into another subfolder if you'd like):

• The older directions that I gave about running EthiCola on a Mac (which used a free program) no longer work, due to recent changes in the Mac operating system and chips; I'm sorry if this caused you difficulties. I'm dying of cancer, retired from teaching, and didn't get feedback from users on problems with my directions. I plan to get someone from Routledge Press to take care of this page -- someone with a recent Mac and much Mac expertise (both of which I lack) who can add useful information about how to run my program on a Mac.
• Since I give two solutions, but have no recent Mac to try them out on, I'd appreciate it if you told me how the solution that you tried worked; a simple email that says "EthiCola is working fine with Crossover on my Mac" would be sufficient and very helpful for me. Also tell me if you had trouble running EthiCola on your Mac, and give me specifics (including your Mac model and operating system number). Also tell me what these directions might include that would be helpful for users (like relative costs and ease of installation).
• If you're at a school, the school might be able to help you with this. Loyola of Chicago, where I used to teach, has a page for student software purchases that mentions PARALLELS -- and asks "Looking to get Parallels for your entire class?"
