Since many arguments about abortion appeal to controversial moral premises, we moved to the more basic question: "How should we pick out our moral principles?"

So we considered some of the main views on this -- including cultural relativism, subjectivism, emotivism, the ideal observer view, supernaturalism, intuitionism, and prescriptivism. We also looked at how virtue ethics and natural law might be applied to the abortion debate.
