Moderate emotivism holds that our moral judgments
Moderate emotivism sees moral judgments as emotional exclamations and not truth claims. But it adds that emotions can be more or less rational.
This approach tries to bring more rationality into ethics. On this view, we'd pick out our moral principles by following our feelings -- but we'd first try develop feelings that are rational (informed and impartial). This view would work out in practice much like the ideal observer view.
